The Government of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka has applied for financing from the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB or the Bank) toward the cost of the Sampur Kappalthurai Transmission Infrastructure Development Project and intends to apply part of the proceeds toward payments under the contract for Lot A Construction of Sampur – Kappalthurai 220 kV Transmission Line. The Ceylon Electricity Board now invites sealed Tenders from eligible Tenderers for the Design, Supply, Construction, Erection, Stringing, Testing, and Commissioning of a 220 kV double-circuit, three-phase transmission line. The line will utilize Aluminum Conductor Aluminum-Clad Steel Reinforced (ACSR/AW) Zebra conductors in a single conductor configuration and will include two Optical Fibre Ground Wires (OPGW). The transmission line will extend approximately 38 km from the existing Kappalthurai 220(132)/33 kV Grid Substation to the proposed Sampur Collector 220(132)/33 kV Grid Substation. The Contract duration is 730 days from the Effective Date. Tendering will be conducted through International Open Competitive Tendering (IOCT) procedures as specified in the Bank’s Directive on Procurement Instructions for Recipients (PIR) and is open to all eligible Tenderers as defined in the PIR.
