University of Calgary - Advanced Contract Award Notice / Notice of Proposed Procurement - Nursing Simulation Manikin
Description
The University of Calgary (UCalgary) intends to purchase the Nursing Anne simulators, including operating software, accessories, upgrade skin kits, and on-site installation from Laerdal Medical Canada Ltd. To maintain full compatibility, operational efficiency, and continuity of training, Faculty of Nursing Clinical Simulation Learning Centre (CSLC) requires these new Nursing Anne simulators to replace aging units. The Nursing Anne Simulator is a new generation adult, male or female patient simulator specifically designed to support simulation-based training across all learning aspects of CSLCโs Nursing curriculum. It can represent male or female and multiple diverse patient profiles by changing the anatomy and putting on different โskinsโ (male, geriatric, African descent front skin, staged wound feet, post-surgical mastectomy skin, and more). This level of modularity is a unique feature that separates it from standard simulators, effectively allowing a single simulator to represent multiple patient types. This simulator is highly realistic and clinically relevant and will integrate seamlessly into CSLCโs operations and curriculum in labs and simulations. Additionally, these new simulators are fully compatible with existing simulation designs and themes without requiring additional programming, ensuring continuity in meeting curricular objectives and training consistency. It is the learning centreโs understanding that only Laerdalโs product is capable of meeting their operational and educational needs.
