Local Facilitator - Ghana

Aninver Development Partners SL (www.aninver.com) is looking for a Local Facilitator - Ghana for a private sector consultancy assignment financed by UNDP in Ghana.

The expert will play a critical role on the ground in Ghana by facilitating local stakeholder engagement, coordinating site visits to selected industrial zones, and supporting primary data collection to connect domestic producers with continental market opportunities.

Aninver is preparing a proposal for this assignment. The selected expert will be part of the proposed team; the engagement is conditional on the contract being awarded to Aninver. The full Terms of Reference for the position are shared with shortlisted candidates.

Objectives of the assignment

• Establish a clear picture of buyer and supplier interest within targeted Special Economic Zones in the country.
• Gather firm-specific evidence extending existing sector-level scoring for priority manufactured and processed products.
• Identify concrete product-supplier matches and firm-level operational gaps.
• Contribute to strengthening the regional trade opportunity pipeline underpinned by solid empirical data.

Scope of work

• Coordinate and facilitate local stakeholder engagement across selected Special Economic Zones and relevant business networks.
• Organise and conduct site visits to tenant firms and prospective enterprise suppliers.
• Support the collection of primary firm-level data covering inputs, outputs, production capacity, and logistics requirements.
• Assist in applying standardized data-collection templates consistent with regional project requirements.
• Engage with zone operators, anchor buyers, and local suppliers to map operational constraints and capabilities.
• Support data triangulation, quality assurance, and coordination with the core technical team and local institutional partners.

Your role as Local Facilitator - Ghana

• Act as the primary in-country liaison for stakeholder engagement and field-level coordination in Ghana.
• Facilitate and schedule meetings, interviews, and site visits with Special Economic Zone operators and tenant companies.
• Assist the core team in administering structured data-collection instruments at the enterprise level.
• Ensure local engagements effectively capture relevant supplier networks, including women- and youth-led enterprises.
• Support the identification of operational, certification, and logistical bottlenecks faced by local firms.
• Contribute local insights to the analysis of buyer-supplier matches and enterprise readiness.
• Collaborate with the broader team to report field findings and support validation workshops with national counterparts.

Requirements

• Demonstrated professional experience in private-sector development, trade facilitation, or enterprise surveys in Ghana.
• Strong existing network and familiarity with local Special Economic Zones, industrial operators, and business associations.
• Proven experience in conducting field-level stakeholder consultations and enterprise data collection.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and facilitation skills.
• Fluency in English with strong written and verbal communication capabilities.
• National of, or based in, the project country

Desirable

• Previous experience working with international development agencies or United Nations bodies.
• Familiarity with regional trade frameworks and supply-chain dynamics.
• Experience in mainstreaming gender and youth inclusion in enterprise development programs.

A dynamic local professional with deep knowledge of Ghana's industrial landscape, strong access to Special Economic Zone networks, and proven expertise in facilitating stakeholder engagement and field data collection.
