Aninver Development Partners SL is seeking a qualified Local GFT Stakeholder Facilitator - Cambodia to support an upcoming UNIDO initiative focused on the garment, footwear, and travel goods (GFT) value chain. The assignment centers on identifying and developing circular economy investment opportunities, enhancing resource efficiency, and promoting sustainable industrial practices in the country.
The expert will play a vital role in bridging international project objectives with the local context, facilitating stakeholder engagement, supporting primary data collection, and helping coordinate high-level sector workshops. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to sustainable development and green economic transition within the national manufacturing sector.
Aninver is preparing a proposal for this assignment. The selected expert will be part of the proposed team; the engagement is conditional on the contract being awarded to Aninver. The full Terms of Reference for the position are shared with shortlisted candidates.
Objectives of the assignment
- Support the identification and prioritization of circular economy investment opportunities in the GFT sector.
- Facilitate effective engagement and communication with local stakeholders, industry associations, and manufacturing enterprises.
- Assist in organizing and executing stakeholder workshops and consultative meetings in the capital.
- Support primary data collection, information validation, and local logistical arrangements for the assignment.
Scope of work
- Review available studies, datasets, and stakeholder mappings relevant to the national GFT value chain and circular economy.
- Identify and map key stakeholders including GFT enterprises, industry associations, waste aggregators, recyclers, and public institutions.
- Conduct targeted consultations and support primary data collection to address information gaps.
- Assist in organizing a hybrid stakeholder and investor workshop, including venue management, invitations, and technical arrangements.
- Facilitate structured discussions and document feedback from industry participants during consultative sessions.
- Contribute to the validation and finalization of investment cases and profiles based on stakeholder feedback.
Your role as Local GFT Stakeholder Facilitator - Cambodia
- Act as the primary liaison between the international consulting team and local GFT stakeholders.
- Coordinate logistics, venue arrangements, and participant invitations for the hybrid sector workshop.
- Support the team in mapping relevant enterprises, industry bodies, and potential investors in the country.
- Assist with scheduling, arranging, and conducting interviews and consultative meetings with local actors.
- Support primary data collection and the validation of market and industry information.
- Facilitate communication during workshops and meetings, ensuring effective dialogue between participants.
- Document stakeholder feedback, recommendations, and expressions of interest resulting from consultative activities.
Requirements
- A relevant university degree in Economics, Business, Industrial Development, Engineering, Environmental Management, or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated professional experience working within the industrial or GFT sector context in Cambodia.
- Strong existing network and knowledge of local stakeholder landscapes, including manufacturing enterprises and industry associations.
- Proven experience in facilitating stakeholder dialogues, workshops, and consultative meetings.
- Strong organizational, coordination, and logistical management skills.
- Full professional proficiency in both written and spoken English and Khmer.
- National of, or based in, the project country
Desirable
- Prior experience working with international organizations, UN agencies, or international consulting firms.
- Familiarity with circular economy, waste valorization, or resource efficiency concepts in manufacturing.
A highly organized local facilitator with deep knowledge of Cambodia's GFT sector, strong stakeholder networks, and proven experience coordinating industry workshops and consultations.
