Reconstruction of "Poltava" Street (from PO 1809 through PO 1709, PO 1728, PO 1731, PO 2845, PO 2873 to PO 2875A) – second stage in the city of Veliko Tarnovo

The section of "POLTAVA" street planned for reconstruction is 1105 m long (II stage), from the intersection with "Oborishte" street to "Arch. Petar Matanov" street, from PO 1809 through PO 1709, PO 1728, PO 1731, PO 2845, PO 2873 to PO 2875a. The reconstruction of "Poltava" street in Veliko Tarnovo will be carried out entirely along the existing route. It will cover the street and sidewalk surfaces from point 1 at km 0+000 to point 118 at km 1+105.00, as well as the designation of parking lots in the inter-block spaces accessible from the street. The asphalt pavement in the section under consideration is in poor operational condition. The wear layer has numerous unacceptable deformations and damages. The existing longitudinal and transverse slopes are variable. The structure has a crushed stone base. There is horizontal marking and existing vertical signage. The horizontal marking will be entirely new after the completion of construction and installation works, and the vertical signage needs to be brought up to standards. The sidewalk pavement is compromised, partially eroded, and overgrown with vegetation. Reconstruction of the street and sidewalk pavement is planned. Technological milling of the asphalt pavement is also planned, excavation of the street base for laying a new water pipeline, backfilling and compaction of trenches for water pipelines, dismantling of old curbs, installation of new ones, and restoration of the asphalt surface. Street structure: - Supply and laying of a leveling layer of uncompacted asphalt concrete according to the technological project; - Supply and laying of dense asphalt concrete – 4 cm; - Supply and installation of concrete curbs 15/25/50 cm to separate the street from the sidewalk pavement. Dismantling of old sidewalk tiles, breaking of concrete pavements, and demolition of asphalt pavements that currently form the sidewalks are planned, as well as excavation to reach the subgrade of the sidewalk. Replacement of lighting poles is specified in the Electrical part of the project. Planting of new vegetation of suitable species for urban conditions and removal of trees in poor condition, as specified in the Landscaping and Public Works part, are planned. Sidewalk structure: For sidewalk made of vibrated pressed pavers: - Supply and laying of crushed stone pavement with a thickness of 20 cm; - Supply and laying of sand with a thickness of 5 cm; - Supply and laying of vibrated pressed sidewalk pavers with dimensions 12/24/6 cm; - Supply and laying of tactile tiles, forming tactile warning strips and tactile guidance lines in yellow color with tile dimensions of 40/40 cm; - Garden curbs 8/16/50 cm will be used to finish the sidewalk pavement, to separate it from green areas, and to form new tree pits. For sidewalk made of reinforced concrete pavement in front of garage groups: - Construction of reinforced concrete pavement with a thickness of 10 cm. Parking lot structure: - Supply and laying of a leveling layer of uncompacted asphalt concrete (binder) with a thickness of 6 cm; - Supply and laying of dense asphalt concrete – 4 cm; - Supply and installation of concrete curbs 15/25/50 cm to separate the street from the sidewalk pavement; Sidewalk pavements are planned for pedestrian approaches and steps to the blocks. Technological milling of the existing asphalt will be carried out and dense asphalt mix will be laid for the street intersections of "Poltava" street with the following adjacent streets and parking lots: to Parking 1 – right; to Parking 3 – right; to Parking 4 – right, 2 units; "Simeon Veliki" street – right; "Toledo" street – right; "Arch. Petar Matanov" street – right. Technological milling of the existing asphalt will be carried out and dense asphalt mix will be laid at the widening for the bus stop from km 0+800 to km 0+868 on the right. A new structure will be built for the approach to public parking lot 3 with a structure of crushed stone with a thickness of 45 cm, uncompacted asphalt concrete (binder) with a thickness of 6 cm, and dense asphalt concrete with a thickness of 4 cm, bordered by concrete curbs 15/25/50.
