Project for Revitalization of Inland Aquaculture through the Development of the Aquaculture Fish Value Chain in the Republic of Côte d'Ivoire

This JICA consultancy project focuses on the revitalization of inland aquaculture in Côte d'Ivoire. The primary objective is to develop the value chain for farmed fish, thereby enhancing the sustainability and productivity of the aquaculture sector. The project aims to identify key challenges and opportunities within the existing value chain, from production to market access, and to propose strategic interventions. This includes improving farming techniques, strengthening post-harvest management, facilitating market linkages, and promoting the role of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) in the sector. The consultancy will involve field surveys, stakeholder consultations, and the development of a comprehensive project plan. The ultimate goal is to boost the livelihoods of local aquaculture farmers, contribute to food security, and promote economic development in the region through a more robust and efficient aquaculture value chain. This initiative aligns with JICA's commitment to supporting agricultural development and poverty reduction in partner countries.
