Description
Am Institut für Quantentechnologie in Ulm, wird ein Lasersystem benötigt, um ein Quantenmemorytestsystem mit Rubidiumgas aufzubauen. Um einen Quantenspeicher zu bauen, werden zwei Laserdioden mit schmaler Linienbreite benötigt. Diese beiden Laser müssen auf leicht unterschiedlichen Frequenzen betrieben werden, die präzise zueinander justiert sind, um zunächst den ‚Signalübergang‘ und anschließend den ‚Steuerübergang‘ in Rubidium-87 anzusprechen. Die Laser müssen zwei bestimmte Übergänge der D1-Linie von Rubidium-87 anregen. Mindestens einer der beiden Laser muss auf eine der beiden atomaren Linien stabilisiert sein; der zweite Laser wird entweder auf die andere Linie oder vorzugsweise phasengekoppelt mit dem ersten Laser unter einem Frequenzversatz von 6,835 GHz (sogenanntes ‚Offset-Locking‘) betrieben, wobei diese Kopplung durch eine Mikrowellenfrequenzreferenz gesteuert wird.
