Das Tunnelkompetenzzentrum gliedert sich in 3 Gebäudeteile. Das viergeschossige Verwaltungsgebäude mit den Abmessungen 14,90 m x 35,35 m, den eingeschossigen Garagenkomplex 1 mit den Abmessungen 6,75 m x 39,38 und den eingeschossigen Gargenkomplex 2 mit anschließendem Satellitengebäude mit den Abmessungen 6,75 m x 32,25 m und ist der Gebäudeklasse 5 zu zuordnen, aber nicht als Sonderbau zu klassifizieren. Der Garagenkomplex sowie das Satellitengebäude sind in die Gebäudeklasse 2 einzuordnen. Das Grundstück liegt im Außenbereich auf den Flächen der Autobahn und hat keinen Bezug zu weiteren Bebauungen. Inhalt dieser Fachplanung Elektro und Blitzschutz (KG 440) bestehend aus der technische Ausrüstung Elektro für das Gebäude sowie der betrieblichen Ausstattung und den notwendigen Blitzschutz für die Nutzung des Tunnelzentrums Zella - Mehlis, Kommunikations-, sicherheits- und informationstechnische Anlagen (450); Förderanlagen (KG 460); Gebäude- und Anlagenautomatisation (KG 480).
