Enlargement of the Musée gruérien and the Bulle Library / CFC 271 - 281 - 283 - 285 Plastering and painting works

The project to enlarge the Musée gruérien and the Bulle Library was the subject of an architectural competition organized by the City of Bulle, for which the consortium Sergison Bates architekten & Jaccaud + Associés was selected as the winner at the end of 2019. Located near the medieval Castle and Rue Victor Tissot, the site holds significant heritage, as well as social and cultural importance for the City of Bulle and the Gruyère region. The current building, inaugurated in 1978, consists of a ground floor and two basement levels. The intervention mainly concerns the Library on the ground floor, which will be enlarged and reconfigured to allow for better functioning of the site's various activities and to cater to a growing public. The two basement levels, primarily housing the Musée gruérien and storage, will remain largely unchanged. While unified in its expression, and also broken down by its pavilion-like language, the building connects to its context, blurring the reading of a precise boundary. The roof lanterns and the cuts in the volume bring natural light deep into the building and offer openings to the surroundings. The low volume of the project emphasizes the presence of the castle as a major and dominant element of the composition. The materiality of the envelope recalls that of the original building, creating a subtle shift between the memory of the existing place and its reconfiguration. The intervention broadly includes: - Partial demolition of the existing building - Conservation of the annex built in 2002, which will receive a new envelope - Partial conservation of the existing concrete load-bearing structure and the existing roof - Integration of a new staircase, a new freight elevator, and a new elevator to complete vertical circulation - Addition of a new external emergency exit staircase and compliance with fire safety requirements - The enlargement on the ground floor extends to the north and east over the footprint of the current underground levels. The new roofs and facade walls are entirely realized in timber construction. Load transfers are managed in the facade and transmitted to the peripheral basement walls. - A new energy concept with the upgrading of ventilation/air conditioning systems and connection to the CAD. This lot concerns works related to: dry construction plastering, renders and staff, plasterboard ceilings, wall, floor, and ceiling painting, floor resins.
