Procurement of LEGUAN Wheeled Bridge Layers
About This Opportunity
TranslatedThe Danish Ministry of Defence's Materiel and Procurement Agency (FMI) has entered into a contract with KNDS Deutschland GmbH & Co. KG on December 3, 2025, for the procurement of three Wheeled Bridge Layer (WBL) LEGUAN 10x10 units, along with associated technical documentation, training, special tools, test equipment, and an initial spare parts package. The contract allows FMI to continuously purchase mechanic support and spare parts (and their repair) for up to 20 years, corresponding to the expected lifespan of the bridge layers, after delivery, which is anticipated in 2029. This procurement is part of a broader framework agreement concerning the Danish Leopard 2 tanks, already established between FMI and KNDS. The LEGUAN bridge layers are five-axle terrain vehicles equipped with an integrated laying system capable of handling both 14-meter and 26-meter LEGUAN bridges, used by the Danish Defence's armored bridge layers on a Leopard 2 platform. These bridge layers are specifically designed to deploy and retrieve LEGUAN bridges as part of military operations, serving as a vital combat support system that enhances the flexibility and mobility of the overall bridging system. The procurement is urgent, stemming from the current security policy situation, and is part of the build-up of the 1st Brigade into a heavy brigade to ensure Denmark meets NATO's force goals. The contract was awarded directly to KNDS without a tender process due to a sole supplier situation.
This is a supplies contract in the security and defense and general supplies sectors, with a focus on Vehicles. Located in Denmark, Europe, this opportunity is open to firms and consortiums.

Description
28, stk. 1, litra e, jf. nærmere nedenfor.
