Etwa 550 Mitarbeiterinnen und Mitarbeiter versorgen Privat- und Geschäftskunden mit Wasser, Strom, Gas und Wärme. Ebenso kümmern sich die Stadtwerke um die Abfallentsorgung und betreiben die öffentlichen Bäder. Moderne Lösungen für Telefonie, Breitband-Internet und Kabelfernsehen erhalten die Rosenheimer über die komro GmbH, eine Tochtergesellschaft der Stadtwerke Rosenheim. Die Stadtwerke Rosenheim gehören zu den Vorreitern für eine regionale, ökologisch und wirtschaftlich vernünftige Energieversorgung. Gemeinsam mit der Stadt Rosenheim haben sich die Stadtwerke das Ziel gesetzt Rosenheim CO2-neutral mit Strom und Wärme zu versorgen. Schwerpunkt des Energiekonzepts bildet die Kraft-Wärme-Kopplung, also die integrierte Produktion von Wärme und Strom. Dazu setzen die Stadtwerke auch auf Wasserkraft und Restmüllverbrennung. Der AG beabsichtigt mit dieser Ausschreibung den Auftrag über ein energiewirtschaftliches Abrechnungssystem in einem SaaS- bzw. einem SaaP-Modell für die Marktrollen Lieferant, Verteilnetzbetreiber, Messstellenbetreiber neu zu vergeben.
