Gegenstand der Baumaßnahme ist der dreistreifige Ausbau der B 5 im 2. Bauabschnitt nördlich von Tönning auf einer Länge von ca. 4,0 km. Der Ausbau erfolgt überwiegend auf der vorhandenen Trasse mit einem Regelquerschnitt von 15,50 m und wechselnden Überholfahrstreifen. Im Zuge der Maßnahme werden beidseitig Wirtschaftswege zur Erschließung der angrenzenden Grundstücke und zur Ergänzung des Wegenetzes hergestellt. Die L 32/K 34 wird bei Reimersbude höhenfrei über ein Brückenbauwerk an die B 5 angebunden. Zudem werden insgesamt sieben Gewässerbrücken neu hergestellt bzw. erneuert, darunter Brücken über den Spuitsieler, Reimersbuder und Witzworter Sielzug sowie Trockendurchlässe für Fischotter. Die Bauausführung erfolgt abschnittsweise unter Aufrechterhaltung des laufenden Verkehrs. Zur Sicherstellung der Verkehrsführung sind entsprechende Vorbelastungen und Bauphasen vorgesehen, wobei Vollsperrungen und weiträumige Umfahrungen möglichst kurz gehalten werden.
