Agency: UNICEF | Reference: LRPS-2026-9204166 | Type: Request for proposal The purpose of this assignment is to design and conduct a baseline survey for the EU-funded Joint Programme “Preventing Gender-Based Violence, Building a Fairer & Safer Society through Schools”, in order to generate reliable, disaggregated baseline data against which programme progress, outcomes, and impact which can be measured over the period 2025–2028.The baseline survey will be conducted in the sampled school across all the four provinces (KZN, Gauteng, Limpopo and Mpumalanga) In each province, twenty schools will be identified two districts ( the DBE will guide in identifying the schools either secondary or high schools) the schools should be representative of rural /urban, no fee paying schools and private schools .The contracted organization will develop tools for data collection and analysis and should learners be identified for data collection then, ethical approval is critical in accordance with the DBE requirements.♦ Additionally, the contracted organization should review available secondary data to identify baseline data from the respective schools in line with violence related variables like reported cases of bullying at the school, learner- teacher attacks, peer to peer attacks, harassment reported cases, Community demonstrations around the schools, incidents of violence on school premises, the police search and seizure sessions at school and recovered items, incidents of learner dropouts, teenage pregnancy cases etc.♦ In addition, the data gathering process should be available to capture the demographics of the targeted populations for numerical and percentage reporting♦ On the empowerment of learners: the contractor may gather information on empowerment programmes that have been conducted at the identified schools and compile a compendium on such and how the school has rolled out such DOCUMENTS AND LINKS: • TORs Baseline Survey for the Gender-Based Violence Prevention in Schools Programme (9204166).pdf: https://www.ungm.org/Public/Notice/DownloadDocument?noticeId=301990&documentId=2025171 • LRPS-2026-9204166 Baseline Survey for the Gender-Based Violence Prevention in Schools Programme.pdf: https://www.ungm.org/Public/Notice/DownloadDocument?noticeId=301990&documentId=2025286 • Download all documents: https://www.ungm.org/Public/Notice/DownloadAllDocuments?noticeId=301990 CONTACT: • Email: nanthoo@unicef.org
