Description

This activity aims at consolidating Bulgarian EO applications in the following three domains: (1) Integrated Maritime Surveillance- Maritime safety, security, and situational awareness in Bulgaria's Exclusive Economic Zone and adjacent marine areas, by developing systems and methods to combine multiple data sources into one coherent maritime picture. (2) Critical Infrastructure Security - Integration of EO-derived information, ground-based sensor network data and transponder data to support enhanced resilience within Bulgarian critical infrastructure such as road and rail transport networks, port and river transport infrastructure, energy generation, transmission and storage infrastructure and communications infrastructure. (3) EO-Enhanced Mining and Extractives Management Platform - transparent, efficient, and environmentally responsible management of mining and extractive activities in Bulgaria, including the detection of illicit or illegal resource extraction, the monitoring of on-going extraction operations for environmental regulatory compliance and safety and the monitoring of end-of-life infrastructure.
