Bio-capacitance probe system
About This Opportunity
This is a services contract in the health and medical services, Research and general supplies sectors, with a focus on Laboratory and Laboratories. Located in Canada, North America, this opportunity is open to firms and consortiums. Proposals must be submitted before August 24, 2026.
Published through CanadaBuys - Government of Canada, a national government procurement portal. Public procurement tenders follow the country's national bidding regulations and may have specific eligibility and documentation requirements for services in the health and medical services sector. Service contracts are typically evaluated on both technical quality and price, and may require bidders to demonstrate relevant experience and qualified personnel. Interested parties should review the full documentation on the original source before submitting their proposal.
Description
Acquisition of a new four-probe system enabling real-time measurement of bio-capacitance for cell culture in bioreactors, for up to four bioreactors in parallel. This system will enable real-time estimation of viable cell concentration in those bioreactors.
Measuring bio-capacitance at multiple frequencies, at regular intervals, in order to obtain the capacitance distribution spectrum of the cells, thereby enabling the real-time calculation of other critical cell culture parameters such as cell size, internal cell conductivity, and critical frequency.
The probes to be acquired under this procurement must be compatible with the different types of bioreactors used by the team. In addition, the selected bio-capacitance probes must allow multi-frequency scanning for real-time determination of the intrinsic dielectric properties of the cells through analysis of the ß-dispersion of the signal using the Cole–Cole a model. Finally, the generated data must be capable of being captured in real time both by the control and data acquisition system via OPC-UA communication, and via 4–20 mA communication to enable integration of the probe directly into a control loop..
