BKP 250 Sanitary Facilities - New Construction of Oberdorf Indoor Swimming Pool

The City of Dübendorf is constructing a new indoor swimming pool on the site of the existing outdoor swimming pool at Oberdorfstrasse 23, 8600 Dübendorf. This replacement new build is planned within the area of the current outdoor pool infrastructure. By integrating indoor and outdoor pool facilities at a single location, an attractive offering will be created, primarily benefiting the local population. Concurrently, the new indoor pool aims to provide sufficient long-term capacity for swimming lessons and sports activities for schools and clubs. The combination of indoor and outdoor pools is expected to yield numerous operational and technical advantages and synergies, leading to more economical operation of both facilities. Synergies with the existing outdoor pool will be leveraged as much as practically feasible and sensible. However, the outdoor pool itself is not part of this planning scope, except where the new construction interfaces with existing structures or swimming/bathing basins. The energy concept is to be characterized by high ecological standards and economic efficiency, with an energy-efficient building envelope being a key objective. The goals for the building and pool technology include: striving for a model function as a public entity (Energiestadt Dübendorf), implementing ecologically and economically sound heat generation, utilizing efficient ventilation monoblocks, pumps, etc., delivering an economically exemplary project with low life-cycle costs, and aiming for Minergie-P and Minergie standards within the indoor pool, though certification is not mandatory.
