Description: YKAN is inviting Individual Consultant to submit proposal for the following scope of work:Project BackgroundThe Sasi practice is a customary natural resource management system that has long been practiced by communities in North and East Misool. In addition to serving as a conservation mechanism, the Buka Sasi moment has strong social, cultural, and spiritual values, and reflects the harmonious relationship between humans, nature, and customary governance. In the context of blue economy development, Buka Sasi has great potential, not only in terms of selling sasi products, but also as a unique and high-value cultural and conservation-based tourist attraction. As tourist interest in authentic, meaningful, and sustainable travel experiences grows, Buka Sasi can serve as a gateway to community-based tourism development that not only provides economic benefits but also strengthens respect for local customs and conservation practices. Certain tourism segments, such as seniors, free divers, and island tour travelers, are interested in experiences that are educational, reflective, and non-mass, which aligns with the character of Buka Sasi. However, the tourism potential of Buka Sasi has not been fully managed as a tourism product that is ready to be offered. The women's Sasi group plays a central role in traditional practices and resource management, but not all of them have the capacity to serve as interpreters and local guides who can communicate the values, stories, and meanings of Buka Sasi to tourists in a structured and interesting way. In addition, the readiness of tourism packages, the division of roles within the group, and the availability of basic facilities still need to be strengthened in the limited time available before the implementation of Buka Sasi. Therefore, it is necessary to have the support of a Blue Economy Consultant for Product and Market Access who focuses on accelerating product development and market access for sea cucumber products. The main objective of the consultant's facilitation in this context is to work intensively and quickly to prepare better market access for sasi products (sea cucumbers and lobsters) and also to develop alternative income from ecotourism, from Buka Sasi activities, ensuring that tour packages, groups, and basic facilities are ready for use during the Buka Sasi period.Objectives/Purposes of the Assignment:YKAN is seeking qualified consultants to assist the Blue Economy strategy in accelerating the development of sasi-based products and ecotourism practices based on Buka Sasi as part of conservation-based sustainable livelihoods, through intensive assistance to sasi groups in North Misool and East Misool, Raja Ampat Regency. For further details on the Scope of Work, please refer to the Terms of Reference available attachedIMPORTAN TIMELINES.The proposal submission deadline is listed on this page. Proposal submitted after the deadline will not be considered.
