Agency: ILO | Reference: rfx_7331_ROAP | Type: Call for individual consultants Dear Bidder, ILO Nepal seeks an experienced agro-chemical safety and Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) expert to work on the issue of national laws regulations and implementation of the Chemicals & pesticides Management, and OSH in Nepal. The deliverables of this assignment will be : 1. Prepare a background brief reviewing national OSH legislation, policies and frameworks related to agro chemicals (which may include pesticides)in order to identify alignment gaps with ILO Chemicals Convention No.170. This review will in turn identify opportunities for contributing to GFC objectives and targets. 2. Facilitate a national policy dialogue among government, concerned employers and workers organizations, along with concerned stakeholders on OSH and chemical hazards in agriculture, including pesticides, and prepare an outcome document identifying priority coordination and enforcement actions. 3. Technical support on practical implementation of workplace risk-reduction measures through the Suryodaya Municipality tripartite OSH committee and capacitate on implementation of such measures; 4. Develop and deliver a training programme on safe agro-chemicals management for relevant government (ministry of labour, ministry of agriculture, ministry of environment, Department of labour and labour offices and Suryodaya municipality authorities; and conduct mock field visits to strengthen practical application of inspection and risk management skills, as they related to agro-chemical hazards.
