Data se odevzdávají v softwaru Wanas zakreslením jednotlivých mapových segmentů a zapsáním řady atributů dle pozorování v místě (více viz závazné metodické dokumenty, které jsou přílohou zadávací dokumentace). Výstupem je digitalizovaná aktualizovaná vrstva mapování biotopů, která umožňuje zobrazení a další výpočty ohledně stavu biotopů a stanovišť. Aktualizace vrstvy mapování biotopů ČR slouží k zajištění sledování stavu přírodních stanovišť v daném kalendářním roce.
