Description
The City is seeking to select a Supplier to provide the supply, delivery and performance of technical services for one (1) Light Rail Vehicle (LRV) Integrated Wheel Truing Machine and Automatic Wheelset Inspection Device required for the Green Line LRT - SE Project, consisting of 16 kilometers Light Rail Transit expansion from Shepard to the Event Centre/Grand Central Station in downtown.
The Integrated Wheel Truing Machine and automatic wheelset inspection device must be specifically designed and manufactured for installation and operation at the Shepard Maintenance & Storage Facility (“Shepard MSF”) and must, at minimum:
- Perform a wheel geometry inspection without requiring stopping of LRVs;
- Support reprofiling of wheels using pre-programmed wheel profile files; and
- Be compatible with low floor LRV-type train cars equipped with top mounted electrical catenary systems.
The scope of the supply, delivery and technical services includes but not limited to, the following:
A. design and design support;
B. manufacturing;
C. installation and installation support;
D. commissioning and commissioning support; and
E. training.
The City anticipates that the equipment, systems, and related services procured for the Green Line LRT- SE Project under this RFP may be integrated into a future construction contract for the Shepard MSF. Subject to The City’s sole discretion and a future written agreement, this Agreement may be assigned, novated or otherwise transferred to the contractor retained under that future construction contract (the “MSF Contractor”).
