The corporate merger will then be followed by a structural consolidation at the CKSW site on Senator-Schwartz-Ring. A comprehensive and needs-based care offering for patients will be created there, eliminating previous double provisions at a central location. The centralization of two high-performance hospitals for extended emergency care will create the largest acute care hospital in the Soest district, with the prerequisites for comprehensive emergency care (GBA Level III) with a total of 19 specialist departments. In the sense of a hospital for the care of all generations, it will offer a comprehensive (partially) inpatient range of services from obstetrics and pediatrics to geriatrics and palliative medicine. Nevertheless, the concentration of service groups and the reduction of inpatient care services and capacities are also objectives of the site merger. In the target plan, a merged hospital with approximately 550 beds, highly complex intensive care medicine, 10 operating rooms, and three delivery rooms will be created at Senator-Schwartz-Ring. The basic designs provide for expanding the existing and worth-preserving building fabric in two locations through new buildings in the north and south directions. In the south, a new functional building will be created as sub-project 1 (hereinafter referred to as TP1), and in the north, the hospital will be expanded with a nursing building as sub-project 2 (hereinafter referred to as TP2). The extensions will be preceded by the demolition of the existing nursing and functional building wings. Sub-project 3 (hereinafter referred to as TP3) involves renovation measures in the existing building. The extensions of the hospital and the renovations of the existing buildings at SenatorausfSchwartz-Ring 8 in Soest will be carried out during ongoing operations. The expansion new construction for nursing (TP2) will be connected to the main hospital building as a 5-story extension with partial basement and will house parts of general nursing and intensive care medicine. In the expansion new construction for function (TP1), in addition to the areas for the Central Emergency Reception (ZNA) with adjacent radiology and the catheterization laboratory rooms on the ground floor and the expansion of the operating department with 6 operating rooms on the 1st floor, areas for sterile supply, laboratory medicine, prosectorium, logistics, and technical building equipment will be provided in the basement. Extensive renovation measures will be carried out in the existing building. In the areas to be renovated, a core renovation will be carried out in each case. A nursing station will be created in the basement. Functional areas for endoscopy and gastroenterology will be located on the ground floor. On the 1st floor, in direct proximity to the operating department and the intensive care unit, the Intermediate Care Station (IMC) is planned, as well as office areas for the various specialist departments. The existing four operating rooms will remain in place. To realize the planned expansion new constructions, existing buildings must first be demolished. Currently, on the site where the expansion new construction for nursing (TP2) is to be built, there is a dilapidated building wing with partial nursing use and vacancy. In the area of the planned expansion new construction for function, there is currently a single-story functional building, the existing ambulance access road, technical areas, and a parking lot. In the course of preparing the application for project funding, the client had already commissioned architectural planning up to service phase 2 (HOAI).
