Description:YKAN is inviting a qualified Individual Consultant to submit proposal for the following scope of work:Project BackgroundThe Nature Conservancy Indonesia (YKAN) is a science-based non-profit organization that has been present in Indonesia since 2014. With a mission to protect terrestrial and marine areas as life-support systems, YKAN provides innovative solutions to achieve harmony between nature and people through effective natural resource governance. It emphasizes a non-confrontational approach and builds partnership networks with all stakeholders for a Sustainable Indonesia.Through its Oceans Program, YKAN implements three main pillars: the development of Marine Protected Areas, climate change adaptation, and sustainable fisheries. These three pillars are interconnected and require concrete economic support for coastal communities to ensure that conservation efforts go hand in hand with improved livelihoods. YKAN has also implemented SIGAP - Aksi Inspiratif Warga untuk Perubahan, a participatory approach aimed at actively involving community members in the planning process in their villages. This approach is specifically designed to increase village community participation in the management of coastal habitats and aquatic natural resources, and to promote sustainable alternative income opportunities aligned with village potential โ including sustainable aquaculture, ecotourism, and other nature-based economic opportunities.Based on this, YKAN developed the Blue Economy Program as a bridge between conservation objectives and the livelihood needs of communities in the program areas. The program focuses on developing various community-based livelihoods aligned with sustainability principles, such as seafood processing, fishery derivative products, and micro-enterprises based on coastal resources. In this context, micro-enterprise groups โ which generally consist of individuals or households with limited resources and business knowledge โ play a significant role in community economic growth. Therefore, strengthening the capacity of the assisted groups is key to supporting and scaling up these micro-enterprises.Through the Community and Product Development Coordinator position, structured support can be provided to local community business groups โ particularly in strengthening organizational management and product development, both goods and services. Appropriate support, including technical guidance, training, consultation, mentoring, as well as regular monitoring and evaluation, will strengthen these business groups and ensure that economic sustainability serves as a tangible incentive for ecological sustainability.Objectives/Purposes of the Assignment:YKAN is seeking a qualified Individual Consultant as Community and Product Development Coordinator to enhance the capacity and facilitate mentoring of local community groups, economic institution (BUMDes/BUMK, etc.), in villages within YKAN's working areas. For further details on the Scope of Work, please refer to the Terms of Reference available attachedIMPORTAN TIMELINES.The proposal submission deadline is listed on this page.
