ENAIRE promueve el proyecto de traslado del actual Centro de Control de Baleares y las dependencias de la dirección regional, ubicadas en el aeropuerto de Son San Joan, de Palma de Mallorca, a otro emplazamiento localizado en el aeródromo de Son Bonet, debido a la afección que produce, en la parcela actual propiedad de ENAIRE, el proyecto de AENA que implica un nuevo diseño funcional del Aeropuerto Palma de Mallorca. Con esta reubicación se atenderá las actuales necesidades el ACC en cuanto a la ampliación de espacios destinados a nuevos equipos de navegación aérea, renovación de equipos e instalaciones, así como disponer de un edificio de contingencias CATS con una mayor separación física necesaria de las instalaciones principales que la actual, aumentando así la resiliencia de los servicios, garantizando la redundancia y seguridad del sistema. La construcción del nuevo Centro de control de tránsito aéreo de Baleares representan una oportunidad estratégica de modernización, alineada con los objetivos de crecimiento, eficiencia y mejora del sistema de navegación aérea nacional.
