Construction of a circus arts museum and workspaces, exhibition and creation spaces for the PALC

The new structure will accommodate PALC's creation and exhibition spaces and provide sufficient area for a national and potentially international circus museum, along with necessary reception, technical, and office areas for both facilities. The building's dimensions are dictated by its placement, adhering to the recommendations of the Architect of French Buildings. The required functions for the museum and PALC necessitate the use of a basement, ground floor, and three upper levels, totaling approximately 5,950 m² of floor space. The project aims to establish a comprehensive circus hub, fostering interaction between artists, residents, and a national/international audience. It will integrate contemporary circus practice and creation, its dissemination, the showcasing of circus-related collections, and the transmission of circus history. The museum component, spanning around 1,800 m² of floor space, will display existing works from Châlons-en-Champagne and anticipated deposits from partner national museums.
