The Government of Azerbaijan has received financing from the World Bank toward the cost of the Second National Water Supply and Sanitation Project, and it intends to apply part of the proceeds toward payments under the contract for Construction of Water Supply and Waste Water Systems and Treatment Plant for Aghsu Rayon. This contract will be jointly financed by the World Bank and the Government of Azerbaijan. Bidding will be governed by the World Bank's eligibility rules and procedures.
The Amelioration and Water Management Open Joint Stock Company intends to prequalify contractors and/or firms for Construction of Water Supply and Waste Water Systems and Treatment Plant for Aghsu Rayon, Contract No SNWSSP-SHD&B-04/2010.
Aghsu is located in the foothills of the Great Caucasus Mountains andthe Aghsu region of Shirvan plain. The envisaged works include construction of water supply and waste water networks and supply and installation of waste water treatment plant. The main qualification criteria for the Applicants are the experience in the works of similar nature, complexity, technology and cost; cash flow of USD 4.5 million; minimumaverage annual construction turnover of USD 26 million during the last 5 years supply and installation of waste water treatment plant of atleast Daily dry weather flow: 10.000 m³/day and 60.000 PE and etc (these requisites are for information only while the requisites in the specific prequalification documents will prevail) It is expected that invitations to bid will be made in early November 2010.
Prequalification will be conducted through the procedures as specified in the World Bank's Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits, (May 2004, revised October 2006), and is open to all eligible bidders as defined in the guidelines.
Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from the Second National Water Supply and Sanitation Project Implementation Unitat the "Address 1" below during office hours 09:00 am to 17:00 hours.A complete set of prequalification documents in English may be purchased by interested bidders on the submission of a written application to the address below and upon payment of a nonrefundable fee of AZN 250or in any freely convertible currency. The method of payment will be a bank transfer and/or cashier's check, direct deposit to specified account number. The document will be sent by a courier services and if requested by Applicants, in electronic form.
