The Government of Azerbaijan has received financing from the World Bank toward the cost of the Second National Water Supply and Sanitation Project, and it intends to apply part of the proceeds toward payments under the contract for "Construction of Water Supply, Waste Water Systems and Water and Waste Water Treatment Plants in Masalli rayon". This contract will be jointly financed by the World Bank and the Government of Azerbaijan. Bidding will be governed by the World Bank's eligibility rules and procedures.
Azerbaijan Amelioration and Water Management Open Joint Stock Companyintends to prequalify contractors and/or firms for "Construction of Water Supply, Waste Water Systems and Water and Waste Water Treatment Plants in Masalli rayon", Contract No: SNWSSP-MASD&B-05/2011. The main qualification criteria for the Applicants are the experiencein the works of similar nature, complexity, technology and cost; cashflow of USD 15 million; minimum average annual construction turnover of USD 90 million during the last 5 years, supply and installation of waste water treatment plant for 60,000 PE and water treatment plant for 80,000 PE and etc (these requisites are for information only while the requisites in the specific prequalification documents will prevail). It is expected that invitations to bid will be made in June 2011
Prequalification will be conducted through the procedures as specified in the World Bank's Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits, (May 2004, revised October 2006), and is open to all eligible bidders as defined in the guidelines.
Interested eligible applicants may obtain further information from the Second National Water Supply and Sanitation Project Implementation Unit at the below address during office hours 09:00 am to 17:00 hours. A complete set of prequalification documents in English may be purchased by interested applicants on the submission of a written applicationto the address below and upon payment of a nonrefundable fee of USD 300 or AZN 250 or its equivalent in any freely convertible currency. The method of payment will be a bank transfer and/or cashier's check, direct deposit to specified account number. The document will be sent bya courier services and if requested by Applicants, in electronic form. In case of discrepancy between the hard copy and the soft version, the hard copy shall prevail.
