The International Labour Office (ILO) is looking for an individual to undertake work as an External Collaborator.
Below is a summary of the work to be performed:
โข Assess the type, major sources, disposal methods, collected, recycled and quantities of E- waste in Zambia with a specific focus in the Central Province of Zambia.
โข Assess the major management practises deployed around E-waste (Collection, dismantling, recycling and disposal).
โข Identify the major project stakeholders and actors and their roles within the e-waste management value chain.
โข Describe the technology/methods used for e-waste collection, separation, treatment (incl. recycling, up-cycling, energy use, etc.) and the value chain of processing (e.g., recycling, up-cycling, repair, reuse, etc.) of the e-waste.
โข Assess the link between e-waste management and circular economy, and what type of workers are involved in what type of activities.
โข Assess current participation of individuals in the e-waste management ecosystem, disaggregated by sex, age, education, disability, rural, urban as well as the barriers they face and options to increase their participation.
โข Describe the organizational structures in e-waste management (self-account workers, cooperatives, enterprises (from micro to large), formal or informal units of the social and solidarity economy, public works or other government led programmes, outsourcing.
