Blue Ventures is a community-led marine conservation organization. We support coastal fishers in remote and rural communities to rebuild fisheries, restore ocean life, and build sustainable livelihoods. In a dozen countries, we partner with traditional fishers and community organizations to design, develop, strengthen, and sustain community-level fisheries management and conservation. We bring our partners together in networks to advocate for reform, and we share tools and best practices to support fishing communities worldwide.
Brief description of the position
We are currently seeking a qualified consultant to design a best practice guide and toolkit based on exchange visits conducted as part of the Blue Action Fund (BAF) project within the Barren Islands Marine Protected Area (MPA). The consultant will work closely with the project teams within Blue Ventures (BV), Aga Khan Foundation/Organization for Support for Rural Development in Madagascar (AKF/OSDRM), the MIHARI network, and other organizations funded by the Blue Action Fund to develop this tool. Candidate selection aligns with BV's core values and policies, as well as its mission to support human rights-based marine conservation and fisheries management approaches.
