Countryside Management Operations for the London Borough of Barnet

The London Borough of Barnet (LBB, the council) wishes to commission the Countryside Management Operations service. The London Borough of Barnet (the ‘Authority’) is seeking to appoint a sole service provider (the ‘Provider’) to deliver Countryside Management Operation services per Lot on its behalf for a three-year period with the option to extend for one year subject to budget constraints and performance. A sole Lot service provider may be the provider to one or more Lots. The works and services for Countryside Management Operations will be divided into six Lot areas as listed below: · Lot 1: Access Maintenance (Bridleways) · Lot 2: Meadow Management · Lot 3: Rural Verges Grass Cutting · Lot 4: Hedge Maintenance including Rural (Flail Cut) · Lot 5: Ditch, Culvert Maintenance, Land Drainage and Revetment · Lot 6: Access Maintenance (Rural Path Maintenance) The key periods of work will be in the period between the months of May and August. There may be other works associated with Countryside Management Operations which will be on an Ad hoc basis and subject to quotations. Appendix 2C shows the location maps. The vegetation which mainly comprises of grass needs to be cut to maintain sightlines. First cut: July-August (AO to confirm start date) Second cut: October Lot 4: Hedge Maintenance including Rural (Flail Cut) Lot 5: Ditch, Culvert Maintenance, Land Drainage and Revetment: Ditch and culvert maintenance works including the excavation and lining of ponds are required by the Authority on an as and when basis. Detailed below is a general specification of the works that would be required, site specific variations would be agreed with the AO before agreeing any works.
