Data portal Limburg module catalog Client: Province of Limburg From the ambition to work data-driven, the Province of Limburg wants to optimally facilitate the availability, findability, and use of data and information products, both internally and externally. The Data portal Limburg is the central place where data and information products are offered accessibly and searchable, according to the self-service principle. The data portal was realized in 2020 and consists of the modules Catalog and Basic Visualizations, which function independently of each other technically. The current environment is based on the Dataloket package from Analyze by KBenP; see https://dataportaal.prvlimburg.nl/. Since then, the Province has invested in the development of a modern data foundation. The current catalog module does not sufficiently align with that data foundation, adding new sources and connectors requires relatively much customization, and the search experience lags behind what users are accustomed to from modern search engines. Together with the need to ensure the continuity of service from January 1, 2027, this is the reason for this tender. The reason, context, and scope are further described in the Assignment Description. The assignment includes the delivery, implementation, and management of an existing, production-ready solution for the catalog module of the Data portal Limburg. This is not a development project: the solution can be configured or slightly adapted where necessary. The assignment also includes the migration from the current catalog environment, the realization of connections with the provincial source systems, and the provision of training and manuals. The solution is the central location for datasets, information products, dashboards, services, and documents from various source systems. Users can independently find what they need through a single search entry point and are then directed to the source system. The catalog is therefore a discovery tool and not a storage location: metadata remains as close to the source as possible. The solution is intended for employees of the Province, external (chain) partners, and citizens, with public and confidential information strictly separated based on data classification. The Province itself carries out the content management. The Basic Visualizations module is outside the scope of this tender.
