The Police and Crime Commissioner for Nottinghamshire requires the provision of decontamination services to support policing operations across our custody suites, fleet vehicles, and potential crime scenes.
The scope of the service includes, but is not limited to:
Custody environments - deep cleaning and decontamination of cells, holding areas, and associated facilities following incidents involving contamination or biohazards
Fleet vehicles - specialist cleaning and sanitisation of police vehicles exposed to biological or chemical contamination
Crime scenes - provision of forensic-aware cleaning services where required, ensuring no compromise to evidential integrity and in line with police instruction
Needle and sharps removal and safe disposal of hazardous waste
Emergency response capability, including out-of-hours call-outs where necessary
The provider must comply with all relevant health and safety legislation, environmental regulations, and industry best practice, including the handling and disposal of hazardous waste.
All personnel engaged in delivering the service must be appropriately trained, vetted, and equipped, with an understanding of working within sensitive policing environments and maintaining confidentiality at all times.
