The procurement of works is necessary to improve the quality of the electricity distribution service, reduce accident risks, and comply with the requirements established by the "ANRE Performance Standard" regarding the continuity of electricity supply to consumers. These aspects have a direct influence on network losses as well as individual consumption at the household level and therefore will lead to a lower local carbon dioxide footprint. It is proposed to modernize technically obsolete installations with new, high-performance installations. The project area is located in the UAT Bocsa, Berzovia, Ramna, Farliug area, on land belonging to the public or private domain. The projected 20 kV overhead line will be laid along a route within the boundaries of the locality of Bocsa, between the localities of Ramna, Barbosu, Valeapai, Duleu, Valeamare (cable laid under the ditch of DJ 585, DJ 587 and DC 87), within and outside the boundaries of the locality of Farliug (on public domain) and between the locality of Farliug and Remetea Poganici (cable laid under the ditch of DN58A), between the transformer stations included in the Project's applicability area. The 20 kV overhead line Avicola Berzovia between Bocsa and Ramna is also included, as well as the connections within the boundaries of the locality of Ramna and the low-voltage overhead line within the boundaries of the localities of Remetea Poganici, Valea Mare and Duleu (only the branches). The current project aims to modernize and convert a good part of the overhead lines to underground lines. Consumers connected to the 0.4 kV distribution networks in UAT Ramna and Farliug, and large consumers located outside the locality of Bocsa on DN58B towards Berzovia, as well as consumers on Binisului street in Bocsa, are directly targeted. 1. The transformer stations included in the project area that are subject to modernization are overhead pole-mounted stations, with an exceeded lifespan, having been put into operation between 1978-1994, most of them in the 80s.

2. The assets in the transformer stations are designed according to obsolete standards and defined to support a consumption that no longer has any characteristics corresponding to the current era. Transformers must be replaced to comply with current consumption standards; the current operating mechanisms do not allow remote operation but only through a human operator, as well as the conversion of overhead stations to enclosed stations to facilitate the telecontrol and automation system. 3. Installation of fiber optic circuits, in principle, laid along the same routes as the medium-voltage cables, which will carry all data traffic between the centralized telecontrol systems and the intelligent sensors and equipment installed in the distribution network; 4. As the current situation is presented, in the distribution network of the area chosen as a homogeneous zone, at the low and medium voltage levels, mainly due to the inadequate condition of the installations in the transformer stations, there is an increased risk of non-compliance with the requirements established by the "ANRE Performance Standard" regarding the continuity of electricity supply to consumers, this fact having a direct influence on individual consumption at the household level as well as on network losses, all of which lead to a higher local carbon dioxide footprint.
