General objectives of the project - Rehabilitation of existing vegetation and introduction of new species - Creation of new pedestrian paths from environmentally friendly materials - Creation of protection corridors (planted strips) from technical infrastructure participating in the development of the locality's green system; - Interventions on the watercourse and its vicinity by arranging green spaces along the watercourses. All landscape elements complement the existing vegetation, being carefully arranged according to orientation, sun exposure, the topographic configuration of the land and the way the space is used or crossed. On the eastern side of the park, along the aqueduct, a mixed alignment of Acer campestre, Carpinus betulus, Cornus sanguinea, Corylus avellana, Euonymus europeaeus, Ligustrum japonicum, Mespilum germanica, Prunus cerasifera, Rhamnus frangula and Viburnum opulus species is introduced to mask the surroundings. This creates an intimate atmosphere characteristic of a park, disconnected from the built-up area of the neighborhood. Inside the park, along the main pedestrian path, two vegetation islands are outlined. The first island contains ornamental grasses of the species Calamagrostis, Karl Foerster, as well as imposing vertical elements with presence both in summer and during winter – Carpinus betulus fastigiat. The second island represents a garden of perennial plants and grasses with species such as Panicum virgatum, Iris sibirica, Hemerocallis, Persicaria amplexicaulis, Deschampsia cespitosa, Amsonia, Salvia nemorosa, Monarda clinopodia, Verbena hastata. Throughout the park, the two islands will be found again, with different dimensions but the same composition. Medium and low species are introduced on the banks, a subtle play of textures and vertical and horizontal accents. Tall vegetation is more imposing in the immediate vicinity of the watercourse, creating a specific "floodplain" atmosphere, characteristic of a watercourse. As we approach the water or climb towards the platforms arranged for various leisure functions, the vegetation is less dense or tall, the park is brighter, sunnier. The proposed species are chosen based on size, adaptability, aesthetic impact in all seasons and phases – flowering, crown, spring-summer and autumn foliage. To replace the existing urban furniture, modern furniture made of ecological materials has been proposed: 1. Benches made of laminated wood elements, humidity < 15% from controlled PEFC sources, with hidden Holtz screw fastening, treatment: 1 layer of impregnant + 2 layers of exterior wax glaze. 2. Seating ensemble - volumetric elements for gathering a larger number of people to socialize. Elements clad with ridged wood 21x109mm, humidity < 15% from controlled PEFC sources, with a substructure of impregnated wood class 4, Nordic pine essence, treatment 1 layer of impregnant + 2 layers of exterior wax glaze. 3. Boardwalks arranged in the watercourse area, relaxation zones, observation points and access to bank landscaping. It will have: - deck cladding with spaced profile, Nordic pine essence, section 26x137 mm, heat-treated class D, hidden fastening with plastic clips, treatment 1 layer of impregnant + 2 layers of exterior wax glaze. - deck substructure, impregnated wood class 4, Nordic pine essence, certificate of origin from a Nordic country, FSC and PEFC conformity, section 45x70 mm/45x145 mm; treatment 1 layer of impregnant + 2 layers of exterior wax glaze. - glued laminated timber beams section 100 x 200 mm, in 2 directions, humidity < 18%, fixed with metal supports in isolated foundations; treatment 1 layer of impregnant + 2 layers of exterior wax glaze. 4. Trash bins made of wooden elements made of exotic sapelli wood resistant to exterior. The wood will be kiln-dried to a humidity of 10-12% and treated with ecological glazes.
