DEK-1450 Energy Modernization of the Institute of Psychology

The University of Debrecen is undertaking a comprehensive initiative to align infrastructure development with environmental and climate-conscious expectations during building renovations. As part of this strategic objective, the University aims to enhance energy efficiency through the modernization of the Institute of Psychology building. Following ongoing external energy-related renovation works, this project focuses on the internal energy modernization of the institute. The internal renovation is projected to achieve an additional 10% energy savings.

The planned investment involves the internal energy modernization of the Institute of Psychology building located at Dóczy József Street. Key components of this project include the installation of a new heat pump heating and cooling system, the implementation of building automation, a complete upgrade of the electrical system, and the establishment of a low-current system (including fire alarm, IT system reconstruction, and renovation of existing alarm and access control systems). The project also encompasses partial accessibility improvements and the installation of external facade shading devices. Following the completion of electrical and mechanical renovation works, the interior spaces will undergo necessary aesthetic restoration.

The building is situated on a 2197 m2 plot, with a net floor area of 1874.31 m2 spread across three floors. The existing built-up area is 936.93 m2 (42.65%), with a building height of 8.98 m. The green space covers 664.1 m2 (30.23%). Major works include floor tiling (102 m2), wall tiling (226 m2), installation of 65 interior doors, placement and commissioning of 2 heat pumps, installation and commissioning of 93 fan coil units, installation of 17,195 m of electrical wiring, and placement of 304 light fixtures.
