Manitoba Hydro Notice of Intended ProcurementProcurement Title:Dispatchable CapacityReference Number:NOIP - 043687Department:Strategic Sourcing DepartmentDate of Issue:2026/06/05This Notice of Intended Procurement (NOIP) is issued solely for information purposes and is not intended to, and will not, result in any award of a contract.Description of ProcurementManitoba Hydro intends to issue a Request for Pre-Qualification (RFPQ) to procure an Engineer-Procure-Construct (EPC) Contractor. The anticipated procurement would support the construction of a new facility to house 3 new Combustion Turbines located in Brandon Manitoba.Based upon the information submitted in response to the RFPQ, Manitoba Hydro intends to pre-qualify up to three (3) Respondents to participate in a subsequent Request for Proposal (RFP), either individually or as part of a joint venture.BackgroundThe Work includes the provision of Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) Contractor services for the development of a new approximately 750 MW dispatchable capacity facility, consisting of a combustion turbine generating station and associated balance of plant systems, to be constructed adjacent to the existing Manitoba Hydro Generating Station in Brandon, Manitoba.
