About This Opportunity

This is a works contract in the construction and civil works, urban development and housing and social protection sectors, with a focus on Buildings, Roads and Housing. Located in Ireland, Europe, this opportunity is open to firms and consortiums.

Published through eTenders - Ireland Public Procurement, a national government procurement portal. Public procurement tenders follow the country's national bidding regulations and may have specific eligibility and documentation requirements for civil works in the construction and civil works sector. Works contracts of this nature generally require demonstrated experience in similar infrastructure projects, adequate equipment and technical personnel, and financial capacity including bank guarantees. Interested parties should review the full documentation on the original source before submitting their proposal.

Description

The project comprises the renovation and extension of the existing convent building at Turner’s Cross, Cork to provide a Domestic Violence Refuge including associated services and 20 no. accommodation units. It also includes the Construction of 2 no. new 4 storey residential blocks to provide 32 no. apartments and all associated parking, roads and ancillary services. Tenderers are required to tender 3 no. options including a Phased Delivery and ‘DVR only’. GSC remains confident that the housing element will be funded in a timely fashion and the build out will comprise both elements. This site in Turners Cross is a substantial inner suburb site and the desirability of the build out of both aspects of the scheme is reflected in the passage of the Part VIII through Cork City Council. Nevertheless, the various options are set out to prudently allow for receipt of funding confirmation. Subject to tender responses, the DVR has been fully approved for funding.
