Description

Legal Aid Commission of Western Australia (LAWA) is an independent statutory authority and is the largest single provider of legal assistance services in Western Australia (WA). LAWA provides services in the areas of criminal, family and civil law across WA. Staff provide a range of services by phone, online and in person at external locations such as courts, prisons and hospitals as well as at all LAWA office locations. LAWA proposes to enter into a Service Agreement for the delivery of Elder Rights WA (ERWA) outreach and assistance services in the Peel Region. ERWA is a specialist legal and social work service established in 2022 for older people experiencing or at risk of abuse or mistreatment and funded by the Department of Communities. It provides legal assistance, advocacy and support and support and provides a holistic service to address interconnected legal, financial, family and social issues typically faced by clients.
