Electron Probe Microanalyzer

The Department of Mineralogy-Geochemistry at the Institute of Geosciences and Geography, Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg, intends to procure a high-resolution Electron Probe Microanalyzer (EPMA). This advanced instrument is required for precise quantitative and qualitative analysis of the chemical composition of solid samples at the micro- to sub-micrometer level. The EPMA will be primarily used for geoscientific research and materials analysis. The objective is to achieve spatially resolved, non-destructive analysis of elemental distribution with high spatial and analytical precision. Beyond geomaterials, the university also plans to analyze synthetic solids and materials using the new EPMA. This acquisition will significantly enhance the research capabilities of the university, enabling detailed investigation into the composition and structure of various materials critical for earth sciences and materials science.
