Description

Die Aufgabe der gemeinnützigen AMO GmbH, Gesellschaft für Angewandte Mikro- und Optoelektronik mbH, ist die Förderung von Wissenschaft und Forschung. Die Planung und Durchführung von Forschungs- und Entwicklungsvorhaben werden dabei in engem Zusammenwirken mit öffentlichen Zuwendungs- und Auftraggebern, anderen Forschungseinrichtungen und Unternehmen der gewerblichen Wirtschaft unternommen. Zu den Aufgaben der AMO GmbH gehört dabei das Veröffentlichen von gewonnenen wissenschaftlichen Erkenntnissen, sowie die Aus- und Weiterbildung von wissenschaftlichen Fachkräften. In seinen Aktivitäten arbeitet die AMO anwendungsbezogen und transfernah, wobei die sich stetig wandelnden gesellschaftlichen Herausforderungen den Orientierungsrahmen vorgeben. Sie erforscht zukunftsfähige Technologiepotentiale zur Entwicklung neuer Lösungsansätze für die Mikroelektronik, Halbleitertechnologie und die Nanotechnologie. Die Forschungsleistungen werden zum überwiegenden Teil projektorientiert durchgeführt, wobei die Finanzierung weitgehend über eingeworbene (öffentliche) Projektmittel aus dem Land, dem Bund oder der EU erfolgt. Hinzu kommen Auftragsforschungen, die gemeinsam mit Forschungsinstitutionen und Unternehmen durchgeführt werden und innovative Anwendungen auf den Gebieten der Mikroelektronik und Halbleitertechnologie adressieren. AMO als Anbieter von Forschungsleistungen für die Nanofabrikation ist ein Pathfinder für spezifische Anforderungen und begleitet ihre Kunden auf dem Weg vom Prototyp bis zur Produktion. Weitere Planungs- und Ingenieurleistungen für dieses Projekt werden parallel bzw. zeitnah vergeben.
