Energy saving contracting CBF

Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin (Charité) wishes to intensify its path towards reducing its CO2 emissions, which it has been pursuing since 2016, through energy saving contracting, despite simultaneous area growth. Energy saving contracting at CBF offers a universally adaptable solution approach to significantly reduce the CO2 footprint with the help of relevant and financially secured energy efficiency and saving measures. The central drivers of emissions at the CBF, which is a listed building, are the entire area of building services engineering with its mostly outdated technology for cooling and steam generation, including their oversized infrastructures, which are the strategic focus. In addition, the structural condition of the buildings, 60% of which were built before 1980, requires extensive renovation. The subject of the tender is the implementation of energy efficiency measures in the CBF properties within the framework of a savings guarantee contract ESGV (contract for planning, execution and support of construction and other services) coupled with an independent financial savings guarantee obligation of the contractor (so-called energy saving contracting - ESC).
