Development of a cross-border tourism concept for Bad Muskau and Łęknica Task and objective: The two neighboring municipalities in the German-Polish border region want to have an integrated tourism concept developed together, which promotes the development of year-round, sustainable tourism. The concept should bundle the strengths of both cities, leverage synergies, and strengthen cross-border cooperation. The subject of the tender is the professionally sound creation of a joint tourism concept for Bad Muskau and Łęknica, as well as support in the implementation of initial measures. Both cities aim to further develop and strategically realign tourism as an important economic, location, and image factor in a sustainable manner. A total budget of a maximum of €45,000 gross is available for the creation of the tourism concept. This includes all services, including personnel, travel, printing, and event costs. The result of the concept development should be an implementation-oriented, cross-border tourism concept that forms the basis for long-term and successful cooperation between the two municipalities in the area of year-round tourism. Special focus areas for the concept are: • Sustainability and environmental compatibility of the planned measures • Unconditional adherence to the principle of equal opportunities and non-discrimination, including accessibility for people with disabilities • Integration of digital solutions • Promotion of intercultural cooperation and exchange between the municipalities To ensure broad acceptance and sustainable effectiveness of the cross-border tourism concept, the development process will be designed to be open, transparent, and with the active involvement of the local population and businesses in both municipalities.
