Derzeit gibt es keine Website, auf der alle verfügbaren Daten und Forschungsinfrastrukturen (DRI) der Schweiz gemeinsam aufgeführt sind. Das soll SPADRI ändern. Mit dieser Ausschreibung soll SPADRI beschafft und entwickelt werden. Ziel der Ausschreibung ist: Auswahl eines kompetenten und erfahrenen Anbieters für die Entwicklung und den Betrieb von SPADRI (Swiss Portal for Academic Data and Research Infrastructure). Mit SPADRI sollen die Leitungsgremien von Hochschulen und Behörden die Möglichkeit erhalten, den Ausbau der Schweizer Forschungsinfrastrukturlandschaft zu überblicken und ihre Dienstleistungen mit dem künftigen Bedarf an DRIs zu vergleichen. Die akademischen Forscher der Schweiz sollen mit SPADRI in die Lage versetzt werden, die DRIs zu entdecken, die ihre Forschungsprojekte am effektivsten unterstützen. Die swissuniversities beauftragte die Universität Zürich mit der Entwicklung der Plattform SPADRI. Diese bietet ein zentrales, leicht zugängliches Verzeichnis von rund 400 Schweizer DRIs. DRIs sind spezialisierte, gemeinsam genutzte Ressourcen mit Expertise, Technologien, Datenanalyse und Dienstleistungen für Forschung, meist gegen Gebühr. Sie gelten als führend in ihrem Bereich und entwickeln sich kontinuierlich weiter.
