Předmětem veřejné zakázky je zařízení, které musí umožňovat přesné řezání elektrotechnických plechů v rozsahu tlouštěk 0,1 mm až 1 mm s přesností lepší než 7 μm. Zařízení musí být schopno řezat elektrotechnické plechy s minimálním dopadem na magnetické vlastnosti řezaného kovu a jeho izolační vrstvy (burr) a zároveň nesmí docházet k odstřiku řezaného materiálu kovem z řezu samotného (splash).
