Natural gas silencers for a natural gas compressor station

Dear Sir or Madam, we are contacting you today as part of a non-binding market survey in the area of manufacturing and delivery of natural gas silencers for a natural gas compressor station. GASCADE Gastransport GmbH is a transmission system operator with an approximately 3,700-kilometer-long natural gas transmission network and various offtake points in Germany. Further information can be found at http://www.gascade.de. We are currently evaluating our procurement needs. Therefore, we would be pleased if you could provide us with information for informational purposes only. DESCRIPTION Silencers for three electric compressor units (each equipped with two inlet lines (suction side) and two outlet lines (discharge side), which compress the gas to 100 bar). The following silencers are to be installed in the suction and discharge lines of the compressors to reduce the noise emissions generated by compression. 1. Three identical silencers for the common pipeline on the suction side (DN 1000) / Type 1 2. Six identical silencers for the individual lines on the suction side (DN700) / Type 2 3. Six identical silencers for the individual lines on the discharge side (DN 800) / Type 3 ==> The pipes for the vessel shell will be PROVIDED BY GASCADE. Silencer Type 1: -Nominal diameter of the pressure shell welded into the pipeline: DN1000 -Inner diameter of the provided pipe: 971.6 mm -Max. length of the pressure shell: 4200 mm -Max. pressure loss of the silencer: 50 mbar -Sound power level in the pipeline at the entry of sound waves into the silencer: 127 dB(A) -Max. sound power level in the pipeline at the exit of sound waves from the silencer: 114 dB(A) Silencer Type 2: -The pressure shell consists of two flanged parts. The 1st part consists of a DN500 flange (provided) on the compressor side, a reducer, and a DN700 flange. The 2nd part consists of two DN700 flanges and a straight piece of pipe (provided) in between, where the silencer internals can be arranged. -Inner diameter of the provided pipe: 679 mm -Minimum free cross-section: 550 mm -Max. length of the entire pressure shell (both parts together): 3700 mm -Max. pressure loss of the silencer: 20 mbar -Sound power level in the compressor nozzle at the entry of sound waves into the silencer: 131 dB(A) -Max. sound power level at the flange at the exit of sound waves from the silencer: 123 dB(A) Silencer Type 3: -Nominal diameter of the pressure shell welded into the pipeline: DN 800 -Inner diameter of the provided pipe: 778 mm -Max. length of the pressure shell: 5300 mm -Max. pressure loss of the silencer: 40 mbar -Sound power level in the pipeline at the entry of sound waves into the silencer: 133 dB(A) -Max. sound power level in the pipeline at the exit of sound waves from the silencer: 114 dB(A) All silencers must be pressure-resistant up to 100 bar, withstand pump surges and a change in direction, be corrosion-resistant, and must not permanently lose any parts or fragments that could fly into the compressor. The silencers must be suitable for operation with a mixed gas consisting of 90% natural gas and 10% hydrogen by volume. Further information (data for calculating pressure losses (flow rate, pressure, temperature, etc.), the distribution of sound power levels across the individual octave center frequencies, as well as requirements for inspection, drainage, and ventilation connections, for coating, for calculation, manufacturing, and welding regulations, etc.) can be provided after signing a confidentiality agreement. The confidentiality agreement can be requested from GASCADE and must be submitted by 18.05.2026. INFORMATION After extensive market research, GASCADE has only found the following technical solution. Other solutions that meet all requirements are not known. Properties: -Inline silencer with metal mesh laminate -various chambers (baffles) to dampen sound at different frequencies -depth of chambers tuned to ¼ of the wavelength -purely metallic, without mineral fibers -without perforated sheets -sand jacket to reduce structure-borne noise transmitted through the vessel shell To enable us to form a reliable technical assessment, we kindly ask you to provide us with three references if possible. The acceptance and final evaluation of the feedback depend crucially on the practical suitability being documented with corresponding references; otherwise, the outcome of the evaluation remains open from our perspective. The references should ideally cover the following criteria: • Silencers for natural gas compressor units • Operation in the pressure range of approx. 50 to 100 bar operating pressure • Nominal diameters preferably in the range DN 600 to DN 1200 • Achieved reduction of sound power level in the pipeline of at least approx. 10 dB(A) "This inquiry does not (yet) involve any intention to procure; GASCADE Gastransport GmbH reserves the right to proceed further. Should a procurement need be identified after conducting the market survey, a formal award procedure would be carried out if the prerequisites are met.
