Renewal of the Energy Supply System BT 60 at Weiden Hospital - Structural Engineering Services, according to §§ 49 ff. HOAI _ Phases 5+6

Kliniken Nordoberpfalz AG is initiating a project to renew the energy supply system, specifically BT 60, at its hospital in Weiden. Significant portions of the existing system, including the medium-voltage switchgear, transformer station, and low-voltage main switchgear, are approximately 50 years old. This age exceeds the normative service life estimates by the Working Group on Mechanical and Electrical Engineering (AMEV) and insurance providers by about 30 years, indicating they are no longer state-of-the-art or compliant with current technical standards. Despite diligent maintenance, the system's age raises concerns about its continued reliability and safety. The current setup lacks the necessary separation between general and emergency power supplies, posing a risk of complete power failure in the event of a fault. Furthermore, operator safety does not meet contemporary standards. Consequently, a comprehensive renewal of the entire energy supply system in Building Component 60 is imperative within the next few years to mitigate risks of supply interruption, fire hazards, and personnel safety issues. The project involves constructing two new, smaller structures north and south of Gabelsberger Strasse, adjacent to existing technical buildings, to facilitate the renewal process while maintaining ongoing hospital operations. Key project milestones include a service commencement in May 2025, construction start in Q1 2025, and project completion in Q2 2029. The estimated total project cost (Cost Groups 200-500) is €10,243,000 gross. The tender specifically seeks structural engineering services for Phases 5 and 6, as defined by the German Fee Structure for Architects and Engineers (HOAI §§ 49 ff.).
