Study on the future of the Guéthary coastline

This tender, initiated by the Communauté d'Agglomération du Pays Basque (CAPB) as part of the PPA Bidart - Guéthary project, seeks a comprehensive study on the future of the Guéthary coastal strip. The services will be remunerated through a global fixed price and unit prices for call-off orders. The study is divided into two main phases. The first phase involves a diagnostic assessment, which will leverage existing collected data and new data acquired through geotechnical investigations integrated into this contract. A key consideration is the preservation of the railway line, identified as a major public interest infrastructure, from coastal erosion and shoreline retreat. The second phase focuses on defining and evaluating three preliminary conceptual scenarios for the reinforcement and development of the cliff face. These scenarios will vary in the type of cliff reinforcement proposed for shoreline stabilization and the specific assets to be protected. The detailed phasing of the operation is outlined in the Technical Specifications (CCTP). Additionally, optional tranches are included for the production of a preliminary design study (AVP) for one of the scenarios selected by the contracting authority.
