Original language: DutchIn samenwerking met de Metropoolregio Rotterdam Den Haag (MRDH) en de gemeenten Maassluis, Vlaardingen, Schiedam en Rotterdam, werkt de gemeente Westland aan de realisatie van de Metro-politane FietsRoute (MFR) Naaldwijk – Rotterdam, een snelfietsroute voor de regio. De samenwerking tussen de gemeenten en MRDH is vastgelegd in de Samenwerkingsovereenkomst (SOK) Realisatie Metropolitane Fietsroute Naaldwijk – Rotterdam. De samenwerkingsovereenkomst is door alle partijen getekend in november 2020.De gemeente Westland is verantwoordelijk voor het deel vanaf Naaldwijk(Galgeweg) tot aan de gemeente Maasluis(Coldenhovenlaan) De huidige fietspaden zijn niet geschikt als doorfietsroute. De fietspaden worden verbreed en er worden rijwegen omgebouwd naar een fietsstraat. Vanaf Naaldwijk tot en met Maasdijk. De ver-keersveiligheid wordt hierdoor verbeterd. Zie hiervoor het Bestek.
