Description

The Project is broken down into three parts and will cover: -Part I: an updated analysis of the current use, and barriers to use of EO data/derived information in judicial and administrative proceedings; -Part II: a critical review of the processes being operated and developed by ESA and other actors to testify to the accuracy, fitness for purposes and authenticity of EO data/derived information, analysing the extent to which they address admissibility as legal evidence; and -Part III: the production and dissemination of guidelines, procedures and standards for use of EO data/derived information in judicial and administrative proceedings, aimed at: a) legal practitioners; and b) actors involved in developing EO satellite data and derived information. Part I II are relatedto Phase I of the study. Part III is covered by Phase II and will be activated once the funding has been secured (CM25). The decision of activation (via CCN) can be taken solely by the European Space Agency.
