Description
The New York City Police Department Transit Bureau aims to acquire a new compact explosive trace detector (ETD) which is significantly smaller than existing technology and can be worn on the officers gun-belt or carried in a pocket. The compact size of the new explosive trace detector would enable the Transit Bureau to issue ETDs directly to specially trained members for the purposes of rapidly scaling up bag screening operations in response to an incident, new threat or intelligence. The new compact ETD would supplement existing technology in use by NYPD and expand the Transit Bureaus ability to screen for explosives. QMS#0587. NYS OGS Contract # PC 69020.
