Description:YKAN is inviting a qualified Entities to submit proposal for the following scope of work:Project BackgroundIndonesia’s coastal and small island communities are increasingly exposed to climate-related and disaster risks, which threaten livelihoods, ecosystems, infrastructure, and community well-being. Yayasan Konservasi Alam Nusantara (YKAN) is currently working to support coastal communities in Maluku and Southwest Papua Province to build resilience through natural resource management and protection of important marine ecosystems the communities depend on. From the Climate Vulnerability Assessments (CVAs) conducted by YKAN in Teon Nila Serua (TNS), Central Maluku, and the BHS landscape in North Misool, Raja Ampat, identified significant vulnerabilities driven by high exposure to multiple hazards, climate-sensitive livelihoods, weak institutional preparedness, and structural gender inequalities. These challenges are compounded by gender and social inequalities, where women often bear greater responsibilities for water, food security, caregiving, and household adaptation, while men face higher occupational risks in fisheries and other climate-sensitive livelihoods. Despite strong local knowledge, social capital, and traditional practices such as gotong royong and sasi, these strengths have not yet been fully integrated into formal climate adaptation and disaster risk reduction planning. The assessments therefore highlight the need to strengthen community preparedness, inclusive governance, and the integration of climate adaptation and resilience priorities into village planning, budgeting, and local development processes. To respond to these challenges and opportunities, YKAN seeks to engage a consultant team to support the capacity strengthening of communities in TNS and BHS on gender-responsive, climate adaptation and DRR capacity-building programs for communities in TNS and North Misool. The assignment will strengthen their capacities to identify climate risks, prioritize adaptation and resilience actions, develop gender-responsive Climate Adaptation Action Plans, and facilitate integration of these priorities into formal village development planning and budgeting processes.Objectives/Purposes of the Assignment:YKAN is seeking a qualified Consultant to provide capacity-strengthening services to communities, local institutions, and village stakeholders in TNS and North Misool to develop gender-responsive Climate Adaptation Action Plans and integrate climate adaptation and disaster risk reduction priorities into formal village planning and development processes. For further details on the Scope of Work, please refer to the Terms of Reference available attachedIMPORTAN TIMELINES.The proposal submission deadline is listed on this page.
